1. Linda (United States) — It’s never too late to start living

Linda’s aura instantly captivated me. I met her in a hostel room in Cancun, Mexico. At the age of 67, she had been travelling for over two years. Clothed in vibrant, flowing dresses and adorned with numerous bracelets on both wrists, she exuded a sun-kissed tan. Formerly residing in Oregon, Linda made the bold decision to embark on a one-way journey to Mexico after her retirement and the passing of her beloved cat. With her expenses limited to rent and utilities, she chose to embrace a more affordable and adventurous life in Mexico. Linda carried the weight of her battle with skin cancer, yet she approached life with a profound perspective.

“I don’t know how much time I have left, but I want to spend the remaining time exploring the world.” she shared.

Through her example, she taught me that it is never too late to embark on an adventure. Our circumstances do not define us; they simply serve as motivation to nurture our creativity.
