The Advice I Would Never Give to My Younger Self

I had a dream last night. I dreamed that I was 16 again. I saw my younger parents, their younger friends and I was in the body of the young Laura. But there was one very special difference — I knew everything that I know now. All the experiences I made, the lessons I learned, the knowledge I gained, the people I met, the places I have been.

If You Would Know What Will Happen, Would You Do It All Differently?

When I woke up this morning I had this strange but beautiful sensation — I felt reconnected to my younger self. I am very sure that is what this dream wanted to tell me. I felt the urge to write down all the things I would do differently if I ever got the chance to be 16 again. Here are some of the things I wrote down:

  • study dance and filmmaking
  • before you love anyone else, learn to love yourself
  • don’t work towards a 9 to 5 job, invest time in building your own business and skills
  • only eat good food, take care of your body
  • be an early adapter

To be honest, I could never give this advice to myself or anyone else without my 30 years of experience — that is for sure.
